Tom Willis Biography
Tom Willis is a Special Forces Green Beret veteran and community leader in the Eastern Panhandle of WV. He serves as a litigation, real estate and business planning attorney with the Martinsburg, WV law firm of Glenloch Legal, P.L.C. where he is a founding Partner. Early in his career, Tom worked as an international business attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of the world’s largest law firm after clerking for a Federal Judge at the U.S. Tax Court. He also has experience in venture capital and leading investment projects. He graduated from Georgetown University School of Law with Honors and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia.
Tom is an Eagle Scout and is a Lieutenant Colonel in the West Virginia National Guard having joined up in 2000 in Kingwood, WV. As a Special Forces Green Beret, he has traveled to dozens of countries all over the world including tours to uproot communist insurgents in South America and terrorists in the Middle East. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Russian. Tom is a published author and has spoken as a guest on FOX BUSINESS ®, CNN ®, and i24 NEWS®.
As a founding Board Member, Tom helped establish the Rick Herrema Foundation, a non-profit to help military members and their families adapt to stresses of military life. He currently serves on Shepherd University’s Board of Advisors for the Hunter Carlos Willis Aviation Program.
Returning from deployments around the world, Tom and his wife Sara have raised their three children in Hedgesville, WV since 2015. He enjoys outdoor recreation, firearms, talking to people, reading history, and singing. Tom’s life experiences, including military training, living overseas, and the trials of losing his first wife and later his oldest son to cancer, help him to connect at a heart level with many.
