Charleston, WV — West Virginia’s veterans have earned a seat at the table. With nearly 7.8% of our adult civilian population made up of veterans, it’s clear their voices must be heard loud and clear in Washington.

This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the men and women who served with courage and conviction. They defended our freedom, protected our families, and upheld the values we hold dear. Now, it’s time they have someone in the Senate who stands for them — someone who understands their sacrifices and will fight for their interests.

In West Virginia, there are more than 110,000 veterans as of 2022.  These are not just statistics; they represent our neighbors, friends, and fellow Mountaineers who answered the call to serve. Despite this significant population, our state remains underrepresented in terms of veterans’ advocacy at the highest levels of government.

Our veterans face real challenges — elevated disability rates (about 35.2% of West Virginia veterans report a disability compared to 22% of nonveterans).  They deserve a Senator who will move past partisan talk, take action, and deliver results.

This is why West Virginia needs a veteran-champion in the U.S. Senate — a leader rooted in service, accountability, and true representation. One who doesn’t just speak for veterans, but acts for them.

To every veteran across the mountains, the hollows, and the cities of West Virginia — your service is our state’s strength. Today we say: thank you. We honor you. And we commit to giving you the voice in the Senate you’ve earned.

God bless our veterans. God bless West Virginia. And God bless the United States of America.
