Why I’m Running
Why I Am Running
My name is Tom Willis, and I’m running for the United States Senate because I believe it’s time for a change in West Virginia.
As I travel across our state, I keep hearing the same message—whether I’m at a gas station, a small business, or a community event:
“Tom, IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE… and also, fix the roads while you’re at it.”
That message isn’t complicated. People are ready for leadership that shows up, tells the truth, and delivers results.

A Life of Service
I’ve spent my life serving West Virginia:
- 26 years as a Special Forces Green Beret in the West Virginia National Guard
- A faith-driven husband and father, raising my family right here in West Virginia
- A business owner, working as both an attorney and general contractor—creating jobs iN WV and managing real-world budgets
- A State Senator and committee chairman, fighting for conservative values
I’m not a career politician. I’m someone who understands the challenges West Virginians face because I’ve lived them.
Why I’m Running
I’m running because West Virginia deserves better—and IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE.
Too often, Washington politicians lose touch with the people they were elected to serve. The focus shifts away from West Virginia families and toward political power, special interests, and personal advancement.
That’s not leadership—and it’s not what West Virginia needs.
It’s Time for a Change
Shelley Moore Capito has lost her way.
Shelley Has Abandoned West Virginia Family Values
West Virginians expect their leaders to stand firm on core values—but too often, we’ve seen inconsistency and positions that don’t reflect our state:
- SHELLEY:
- VOTED AGAINST TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE
- One man, one woman (she voted against that(!)
- HAS FLIP-FLOPPED ON ABORTION
- CAN’T BE TRUSTED TO DEFEND LIFE
- VOTED TO KEEP FUNDING FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD THEREBY USING YOUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS FOR ABORTIONS
- SKIPPED THE VOTE TO KEEP BOYS OUT OF GIRLS SPORTS
- 2nd AMENDMENT: SHELLEY VOTED FOR RED FLAG GUN CONFISCATION FUNDING TO SEIZE YOUR FIREARMS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS
- SHELLEY HAS SERVED HERSELF AND HER FAMILY, NOT WV:
- She is ranked as the #2 or #3 top insider trader in the US SenateInstead of negotiating for WV families, she negotiated to have her son appointed as the US Attorney for the Southern District of WV (and then voted for his confirmation but told WV that was NOT a conflict of interest(!)
- Shelley voted for the Afghan Refugee resettlement program that brought some 100,000 Afghans to the USA largely unvetted. One of whom, ATTACKED WV NATIONAL GUARDSMEN LAST FALL, KILLING ONE AND SEVERELY INJURING ANOTHER – foolish votes have tragic consequences.
- Shelley sponsored the RESTRICT ACT which would have given the Biden administration power to pull down your social media posts if they were viewed as harmful to public discourse. This veritable “Truth Ministry” failed, but as Charlie Kirk said in response, “Somebody needs to primary the Senators that voted for this(!)”
- Shelley has an “F” rating for conservative voting from CPAC, FREEDOM WORKS, and HERITAGE ACTION
- VOTED AGAINST TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE
- IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE WV !
Public service should be about the people—not personal or political gain.
West Virginians deserve leaders who put the state first, every time.

What I Believe
You can count on me to fight for:
- The sanctity of life
- The Second Amendment
- Religious freedom
- Secure borders and enforcement of our laws
- Protection of our communities and our values
Priorities for West Virginia
Strengthening Our Infrastructure
We must invest in roads, water systems, and critical infrastructure—because economic growth starts with a strong foundation.
Lowering the Cost of Living
West Virginians are feeling the pressure every day. I will work to:
- Limit the size of government
- Cut unnecessary regulations
- Encourage free-market competition to lower costs
Growing Our Economy
By supporting small businesses and responsibly developing our natural resources, we can create opportunity and keep jobs here at home.
Our Vision for West Virginia
West Virginia’s strength has always been its people.
We are:
- Generous
- Hardworking
- Resilient
- Real
We are also blessed with incredible natural resources and untapped potential.
I believe West Virginia can lead the nation—but only if we return to what makes us strong:
“We need to say our prayers and roll up our sleeves—because in West Virginia, we know it takes both.”
That means strong families, strong communities, and proven leaders who will fight for us.
Can We Win?
People often ask: “Can you really win?”
My answer is simple: Yes.
I’ve taken on tough fights before—and won. In my last race, I defeated a statewide incumbent by a decisive margin. And with your support, we can do it again.
But it will take all of us.
